Obesity Clinic
Pet obesity is growing epidemically and reducing the body weight of your dog or cat improves and extends their life quality. Your pet might be a ’nibbler’, ‘beggar’ or an ‘eager eater’. It might suffer from a lack of exercise for burning off the calories it takes in, or it might over-eat simply because it’s bored. However, there might be a serious underlying medical problem such as heart, thyroid or other metabolic disorders that need to be addressed.
Reduction of weight should be based on the advice of your vet or veterinary nurse, under ongoing supervision in order not to harm the health of your pet. We also offer specific feeding instructions for all our patients, as general feeding instructions often do not consider the individual life style of the animal. We offer free weight checks at our hospital under veterinary nurse supervision. Please phone the hospital and ask for Tara or Keira for details.
